Finding the Right Size
Proper sizing is crucial to ensuring a secure fit and maximum protection for your binoculars. Follow these steps to determine the best size for your gear:
- Measure Your Binoculars
- Using a measuring tape, measure from the end of the objective lens to the end of the eye cup.
- Set your eye cups to the position you typically use in the field (in, out, or mid-position).
- Check the FHF Sizing Chart
- Match your measurement to our bino harness sizing chart to find the perfect fit.
- If you have rangefinding binoculars, refer to our chart or contact us for guidance.
- Ensure a Proper Fit
- The harness should create a tight seal around the eye cups, forming a flat, boxy look when closed.
- The lid should close securely at the mid-box level, keeping proper tension on the bungee loop.
- If your harness is too large, your binoculars may sit too shallow, creating a loose fit that could cause the lid to pop open unexpectedly.
Built for Versatility
The FHF Bino Harness is modular and adaptable to your hunting or outdoor setup. With MOLLE compatibility, multiple storage options, and a highly adjustable fit, this harness is perfect for any outdoor pursuit.
Pro-M Bino Harness Setup Instructions
Step 1: Preparing the Bungee System
- When you receive your FHF Pro-M Bino Harness, the bungee knot will be loosely tied, with the tag end sticking out.
- Open the harness and insert your binoculars into the pouch.
- Pull the top lid snugly over the eye cups to create a tight seal.
- If the lid does not close securely, refer to the FHF sizing guide to confirm you have the correct harness size.
Step 2: Adjusting the Bungee Tension
- Locate the bungee knot inside the one-inch webbing loop and slide it out.
- Untie the square knot and hook the bungee loop onto the boot hook.
- Retie the square knot to secure the tension. Always use a square knot to ensure the bungee remains tight and does not come loose.
- Adjust the tension based on the height of your binoculars and eye cup position.
- Slide the bungee knot back into the one-inch webbing loop to keep it secure.
- Tuck the tag ends under the FHF Gear logo to keep them neat and out of the way.
At this point, your harness is secured, and the bungee system is properly tensioned.
Step 3: Adjusting the Harness Fit
- Adjust the harness height to determine how high or low it sits on your chest.
- Remove the bino hangers from both sides.
- Undo the one-inch webbing from the Triglide buckle.
- Slide the Triglide up or down to adjust harness height:
- Short torso? Keep the webbing all the way up.
- Long torso? Lower it about an inch to an inch and a half.
- Once positioned correctly, run the one-inch webbing back through the Triglide buckle to lock it in place.
- Repeat this process on both sides for an even fit.
Step 4: Installing the Bino Hangers
- Take the bino hanger and thread it through the attachment point on your binoculars.
- Feed the webbing back through the Triglide buckle (up through the bottom, down through the top).
- For added security, loop the webbing back down through the bottom to lock it in place.
- Repeat this process on both sides to ensure a secure connection.
Final Check
- Ensure your binoculars sit snugly in the harness with a secure top lid seal.
- Verify that the bino hangers are tight and locked in place.
- Confirm that the harness sits comfortably on your chest.
